Patriotic Crafts and My Patriotic Tree 2015

I have been busy doing my Patriotic Decorating for the Summer Holidays.........

But I had an IBS attack the other day with abdominal pain and cramping and those other symptoms which I will not mention to gross you out( keeping it real here!) so I was taking it easy and thought of what I could do instead of sitting around doing nothing........

You see "taking it easy" is really not in my vocabulary......

When I unpacked my Patriotic decorations, I found a pack of stickers that I bought last year on Clearance for $1.00!!
I was thinking about what I could do with them and realized that I use a few red, white and silver plain ball ornaments on my Patriotic Tree........
So I decided to "Dabble" a bit with these ornaments and create my own Patriotic Ornaments for my Patriotic Tree!
I don't think they are plain anymore!!!

After Christmas, keep on the look out for any type of ornaments that you can use or change into ornaments for other Holidays.

I do An Autumn Tree and use a lot of gold and copper and orange plain ball ornaments but I think I will be on the lookout for some pretty Autumn Leaf Stickers to dress them up a bit!! I think I may actually already have some!!

I think my new Patriotic Ornaments look great on my Patriotic Tree......
I know many of you may remember this Tree from other years but I still want to share how it looks this year......
I used a new topper this year......
It actually is a table decorations from Dollar Tree!
It reminds me of Fireworks Exploding!!
Underneath it is a bow that I made out of 2 ribbons.....
One says"God Bless America" and the other is Flag like.....
The garland is from Dollar Tree and is Red, Blue and Silver.....
Which gave me the idea to add some silver ornaments to the Tree.....
Near the top is an "Ameica" wooden plaque....
Most of the ornaments are Christmas ornaments........
And I do have some Patriotic Ornaments.....
Streamers of Patriotic Ribbon flow down from the top of the Tree......
And the Tree itself is wrapped with wired Star Garland.......

The Red Star ornaments were bought by Joe on Clearance for 90% off at Big Lots after Christmas......
The 3 ornaments cost 10 cents!!

Now here are some of my "new' Patriotic Ornaments that I crafted!!
I have several packs of Paper Mache Stars that I am going to play around with soon and will add to this Tree........
This Tree stays up all Summer, until Labor Day , to celebrate the Summer Patriotic Holidays!!
I did this little Floral arrangement in a Dollar Tree pot a few years ago but decided to add the Flags to it.....
The Flowers were also bought at Dollar Tree.....
And I added a few of those Stickers to the pot......
I think it dressed it up a bit more.....
I had fun doing some Patriotic Crafting!!
I still have more decorations that I wish to share with you but I will save that for my next post!!

We may have FROST in the morning so I will be covering all my annuals!!  UGH!!!

Wishing you a Happy Memorial Day but let us not forget the TRUE Meaning of this Holiday.......

Remembering those who served and died Fighting for our Freedom.......

My Dad was a World War II Army Veteran...
And Joe's Dad was a Marine in the Korean War who was wounded 3 times and is a Purple Heart Recipient.....
Last year, Joe and his Dad along with Jimmy, Danielle and Joey were able to visit the War Memorial in Washington, DC.....

This is the Korean War Memorial , which I find quite striking, almost haunting....
Jimmy, Joey, Joe and Joe's Dad, Joe at the Korean War Memorial.....

This is the World War II Memorial.....
Remember to say THANK YOU to a Veteran this Weekend!!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!!!

In a previous post, I shared with you that I had planted my flower pots with annuals.......
Created 2 Flower Towers and re-purposed a Bird Bath........

And I also shared how the front of our townhouse looks with the azaleas and phylox in bloom.......
Click HERE if you missed that post.....

Now I would like to share with you the rest of our front yard......
I have no lawn but a large flower bed that runs the length of our row of 10 townhouses and a flower bed under the Living Room window.....
I do try to make the most out of these small spaces......

This is my small flower bed under the Living Room window......

I have flower boxes on each side that I have planted with begonias and dusty miller this year......
I usually plant these flower boxes with 8 begonias and by the end of the Summer, they are overflowing with the flowers!!

And overcrowded!!

So this year, I decided to decrease to 4 begonias and added 2 dusty millers and we will see how they turn out!!
I need to keep triming these shrubs or they will completely fill this flower bed!!
Joe bought new mini flags this year in Wegman's on sale......
They almost feel like silk!!

This was once a fountain that broke so now it is a bird bath!!
This frog was once my neighbor's......
The crackled glass solar lights were bought in Wegman's at the end of last year's season......
There is a wall at the end of the flower bed because my neighbor on this side is 3 feet down from us.....

These urns came from our church which had them out for the garbage last year.....

Can you imagine that they would be throwing them away!!

I had chosen a color theme of red, orange and yellow for my flowers this year and I planted these using one red geranium in the center surrounded by 2 different types of marigolds and dusty miller.
You can see that they are on the wall with a flower box in between them....
Again , there are begonias and dusty miller planted in the flower box.....
And I have Fairies on the sidewalk by the urn.....
And now I will show you what is considered our front yard.....
Our azaleas are blooming.....
Love this pink color

Another Fairy...

A solar light rock and more marigolds in this planter.......
These deer Joe bought at Wegman's which were actually Christmas Clearance....
I moved this gazing ball to the front from the back yard.....

The base was gray and I spray painted it....
I like how it reflects the light...
It was bought at Big Lot's last year.....

Moving down the yard.....
My Park Bench was also bought at Big Lot's about 2 years ago......
I used burlap deco mesh to make a bow for the lantern which is set on a timer to come on in the evening.....
I also spray painted these pots....
This pot was once gray in color......
The fairies and solar rock came from Wegman's!!!
This pot was a terra cotta color before I spray painted it black.....
And the pots are planted with a red geranium and marigolds.......
Underneath the bench......
"Our Beloved Dog"......
And the Stepping Stone says, "Angels Gather Here".....
Looking at the back of the bench from down in our parking lot.......
Next to the bench.....
My Chippy Angel that I have had for many years bought on Clearance after Christmas at Target!!
Have I told you that my MIL keeps telling me that I should paint it!!
LOL!!!

I bought this mailbox at a Liquidation Sale at a Florist Shop last year and I used E6000 Glue to attach it to this plant stand......

I want to change the florals in it so I will show you a close up after I do that.........
A deer that was my neighbor's underneath it with another solar rock......

That is primrose blooming....
Another new flag along with a solar lantern that was, again, bought at Wegman's last Summer on Clearance!!
My red azalea looking up from the parking lot......
Another fairy that was a gift from a friend......
Looking down the sidewalk......
I will be adding some Patriotic decorations to the front porch and yard over the weekend.

It is hard to believe that it will be Memorial Day already.

It is actually the earliest it can occur since making it a Holiday celebrated on a Monday......

I will be sharing my Patriotic decorations both inside and outside with you soon.....
