Patriotic Decorations for the Summer 2013, Part One

Can you believe that Memorial Day is only a little over a week away?????

Holy Moly!! Doesn't it seem like this year is flying by??? It does to me!!

First , I want to THANK these great Hostesses who featured my post
Garden Wreaths and Garden Blooms in the Back Yard ....

Natasha from Nastasha in Oz from last week's Say G'Day Saturday Linky Party

And T'onna from Navy Wifey Peters Aboard the USS Crafty from last week's
Submarine Sunday Linky Party

And Kathy over at Life on Lake Shore Drive for featuring as this same post as the Most Viewed from her Party Bouquet of Talent Linky Party # 34!

THANK YOU so much, Ladies for this honor!!  Please visit both of these wonderful Parties and maybe even link up too!!

Since the temps. around here took quite a dip below normal ( Click HERE to see the Snow and Ice shower that we had on Monday, May 13!) , I decided that it was time to do something with that bare white tree in the corner of my Living Room last weekend!
Other years, I had decorated a small potted 5 foot green tree with my Patriotic decorations but since I had moved the White Tree from upstairs in the Guest Bedroom to downstairs in the Living Room for Easter, I thought the White Tree would look much better decorated for the Patriotic Holidays of the Summer.....

I went to the Dollar Tree to see if they had any decorations that I could add to what I already had since this is a larger Tree than I used before and this is what I came home with.....

I really liked the garland also using the color Silver with the Red and Blue......

Before I started to decorate the Tree, I wrapped white tulle around through the center of the tree to create some depth and so you would not be able to see through the Tree.....
Then I added  the 3 packs of garland.....

I used most of the decorations that I had and presto!! It was finished in no time....
Since this Tree is right by the window, it looks good without even being lit!!

The topper is a bow that I made last year using Patriotic Ribbons and some Star picks tucked in......

I used red and blue ball ornaments and new red and blue star ornaments that I bought at Big Lots on clearance after this past Christmas.....

I also have Star ornaments for all 4 branches of the Service.......Army, Navy Marines and Air Force!
The silver ball ornaments were also bought on clearance after this past Christmas....

A small wooden heart plaque.....

There are a few bear ornaments dressed in Red , White and Blue that I bought in Michael's last year...

A Red, White and Blue Butterfly ornament.....

I also tucked in Patriotic ribbon through out the Tree along with little flags....
Here it is with the lights on......
I left all white lights on the Tree.....

I really like the garland on this Tree....

Now you know me.... I have to show you it lit at night!!

The Patriotic Garland Hat from the Dollar Tree really glistens under the Tree....

Along with the Tree, I also have a few other Patritotic decorations in the Living Room.......

At the base of the Tree and to the side on the chair .......
This Marine Bear sings " To the Halls of Montezuma"  Joe's Dad was a Marine, wounded in the Korean War and received a Purple heart.....

See the hat from the Dollar Tree on the chair??????

This sweet Bear dressed in her pretty Red, White and Blue finery sings, Kate Smith's America....

And yes, that is a Ben Franklin Bear holding The Declaration of Independence beside a plaque with Lady Liberty on it!!

On my Fake window, is a Wreath that I made last year.......

And the Garland Star from the Dollar Tree is below it......

In the Hallway, hanging on the mirror between the coat closet and Powder Room is a cute little broom doll that I bought a few years ago at an Estate Sale........

And on the Powder Room door, is another Wreath that I made a few years ago.......

So that is Part One of my Patriotic Decorations.  I still have to decorate my little hutch in the Kitchen and  the front of the house outside.......I will also be planting all my annuals today as temps. are back up in the high 70's!!

I have also linked up Part 3 of our stay at the Stegmaier Mansion from 2 years ago to The Tablescaper's
Oh, The Places I Have Been Party!   This post features the Ceiling, amazing Art Work and Stained Glass in the mansion so I hope you will take a peek at it.......

I also want to say that I am thrilled that my girl, Candice Glover won American Idol!!

Whoa!!

This is her amazing performance of " I Who Have Nothing!"

Please turn off my music to Enjoy!!

And Candice and Jennifer Hudson!!

And I did not watch the TV show ,The Office,  but we did tape the Farewell and final episode of  The Office since the show supposedly took place here in Scranton, Pa.

A few weeks ago there was a huge Farewell Party in Scranton where fans came from all over the country and the Cast made appearances here in Scranton all weekend. Parts of that party were featured in the show that preceeded the final episode...

Signing autographs in Scranton.....
Steve Carell and cast at the newly rebuilt PNC Baseball Field ( home of the Baby Yankee's) in Moosic on Montage Mountain........
It was amazing to know that such celebrities would come here to our litle corner of the World.....
