My First Pink Saturday Post

My First Pink Saturday Post!

Nelson Crest decorated for Christmas

I am so excited to finally be able to participate in Pink Saturday as I have been following it for some time now.
I would like to offer all of you Photos of my Childhood Dream.....a Victorian Doll House. I have always wanted one but never had one as a child. A year and a half ago my dream came true. 4 years ago, my hubby bought me the Doll House Kit as a birthday present and I entertained the thought that I would actually have the time to build it myself! Keep in mind that I do work full time night shift!!! A wonderful man, Roy Nelson, offered to build my doll house for me. He belonged to my church and he was a patient of mine several times. He built over 20 doll houses in his life time. At 87 years old, he made my dream come true. He died shortly thereafter of lung cancer at the age of 88 years old. I have named my "Painted Lady" Nelson Crest in honor of him and the "family" that lives there are "The Nelson's". My Doll House proves that you are never too old to play with dolls!!!!

This is the interior of my Doll House. Many items including furniture sets came from A.C. Moore's and other speciality items were purchased on Ebay

This is the Parlor all decked out for Christmas. I made the pink Christmas tree

Inside the Dining Room is a vintage gold bottle brush tree that came from my parent's collection of Christmas decorations.
Now for the Master Bedroom. I was so excited when I recieved the hat, the umbrella and the shoes from Ebay. After all, a lady needs her accessories!
This is the little girl's room. I did a girl's room because I have two sons. My room was lavender as a child and I really do not have a room decorated in that color in my own home so that is why I chose this color.

Of course, this is the bathroom.

And the Music Room.

This is my perfect house. It has NO KITCHEN!!!! LOL!! I know how to cook but I do not enjoy it and wish I did not have to. Now that we are "Empty Nesters", I am really getting away without a lot of cooking! Yippee!

Well, that was my first Pink Saturday Post. Thanks for stopping by and please visit Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for more Pink Saturday Posting.

Valentine's Day Decorations

I love to decorate our home for the different holidays and seasons. After Christmas, I don't take down all of my Christmas trees. I just redo them and turn them into Valentine's Day trees. I have amassed a collection of Valentine's Day ornaments over the years by shopping the after Christmas Clearance sales. It is amazing how many Christmas ornaments you can use for other holidays and seasons. Pictured above is my Dining Room Tree. It is decorated in mainly a red, white and pink color theme.

This is my Living Room Tree. I have used a gold and red color theme for this tree. Red hearts and beads, gold cherubs and hearts and red velvet roses are tucked into the tree.

This is the tree in our Den. It is decorated with red and blue toile hearts, ivory hearts, tea cup and tea pot ornaments and ivory roses and beads. I have a collection of red and blue transferware in a hutch in this room so that is why I used these heart ornaments.

This is my Powder Room tree. The Powder Room is decorated with Snow Buddies and I just changed out the Santa ones for the Valentine's Day ones and added red hearts to the tree. The Powder Room is done in Snowbuddies from Nov. until the end of Feb. when I turn it back into a very Victorian looking Powder Room.

Also in my Dining Room, is a white Victorian feather tree with gold, silver and pink hearts on it. This was a Christmas clearance find from several years ago.

Today, I plan on changing over my Shabby pink and white Craft Room tree from Christmas to Valentine's Day. That will then make 6 Valentine's Day trees. Am I crazy or what????? I have more photos of our home decorated for Valentine's Day in my Webshots page. Please click on the link to the right side to view my photo albums on WebShots.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

First Posting on my New Blog

Hello! This is my first posting on my new blog so bear with me! I have just recently found the wonderful world of blogging and learned that there are so many great sites out there with so many people sharing so many great ideas that I just had to be part of all of the fun and excitement! Once I get the hang of this , I will be posting pictures of my passion.... my home! I love the Victorian style and have decorated my 1970's townhouse in that fashion.
I hope to meet a lot of new friends through blogging who share similar interests.
