Winter in North Eastern Penna.

Truly, I Do like Winter and the change of seasons here in Pennsylvania .

We have had some frigid temps. this season having hit a low of -6 degrees last week.
But we have been lucky with snow and have not had any major large snow storms. The ones that have been dumping huge amounts of snow have been missing us here in the Wyoming Valley of North Eastern Pa.

But the inches are piling up , with not much melting of snow and here is what my back yard looks like.........

Since this is our first year without a dog, our back yard is untouched as we no longer have to shovel out a pathway for the dog.

We are having temp's in the 30's now which is creating a lot of this.........

These are the icicles hanging off my awning in the back.

And these are the ones in the front of the house.......

They are dripping right onto my front sidewalk and that is fine during the day but when the temp's drop into the 20's at night, it makes for a very slippery situation. I almost took a flipper the other night when I was leaving for work as I stepped off the porch and onto the sidewalk.

Needless to say, we are now using a lot of Ice Melt until the gutters clear of ice and snow!!

I am linking up to:

Show and Tell Friday

Thanks for stopping by today and every day that you take the time to visit me!

Hugs,
Debbie

Oh, Debbie, that snow looks pristine and so beautiful. I'm still waiting for snow here in my town...but FEbruary hasn't come and gone..and historically, if it didn't snow in January, it would snow/stick to the ground in February. Well, we'll see...but I sure do love this photos ;) :) Be careful when walking out on that ice!!!! Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

Your backyard looks pristine and untouched. We have to shovel the back of our yard for the dogs so it always looks messy, especially the yellow snow! Careful on those icy walkways ---- very dangerous! I'm always holding my handrail when I'm walking up or down my exterior stairs.

We are having a lot of build up too - we've only had two days above freezing since snow fell in Nov.

Debbie, I am now following you! Yikes, thought I had done that already but nope, not until today. I just adore your New Year's blog. The pic of you and Joe at the different functions. You picked a word that I would say describes you to a tee, your blog, pictures and the emails you have shared all portray a lovely new friend who drop "happiness" around her like rose petals at a wedding. You have one of the most positive happy outlooks of anyone I know. What a gift! Each post I read, I just want to meet you in person, even more. You are on our direct route if we do go "home" this year, lol.
