I pray that none of my blogging friends have been involved in any of these natural disasters and all are safe and sound.
The scenes from the hospital on Joplin, Missouri have made me cry. Being a nurse that has worked full time for close to 33 years, I can only imagine the terror that the patients and staff in that hospital experienced as the tornado hit, fearing for their own lives and the lives of their family who they were not with.
We even had tornado warnings here in Pa. yesterday. I hope this strange weather that the country seems to be caught in will end soon.
The view out the back door......
Since we lost our sweet Savanna last August and we decided that we would remain a pet free family, I have dreamed of a Cottage Garden in my very small back yard.
This past weekend I bought all of my perennials and annuals.........
Last summer, I wanted a Doggie Angel to place by stepping stones remembering our 2 precious pets.
Joe found this sweet statue in Lowe's.
The corner of my patio.....
I hope they will start to fill in soon....
Petunias......
More impatiens planted in my chair planter.....
Hopefully, my little sign will not come true.....
And now I want to show you what I hope will become my Cottage Garden......
See my doggie statue and the stepping stone that remembers our precious Cassie. The stepping stone that remembers our sweet Savanna has been shipped and I cannot wait to receive it to place next to Cassie's.
And the other side.....
This is the right side of the yard......
And the left side of the yard.......
Some of my perennials are starting to come back from past years....
These are asters that will bloom in the Fall.
" An Hour in the Garden puts Life's Problems in Prospective"
This tiled Butterfly stepping stone Joe bought for $6.00 in a local Supermarket...
Impatiens planted in an old watering can....
My lantern is on a timer to come on at dusk. I bought it many years ago in Big Lots....
Savanna's stone will say "Savanna, Sadly Missed"
Statue was $1.00 at a Yard Sale....
More asters...
The sundial and pedestal were flea market finds....
The boots are in honor of my Dad who as a carpenter wore boots like these every day....
I bought 3 of these stepping stones at Micheal's . They were $10.99 and at 50% off and with a 25% off total purchase coupon, they came out to $4.00+ change a piece!!
They say SMILE, LAUGH and my word for this year HAPPY!!!!
The tiles kept reflecting and I am sorry that I could not get a good pic of them.....
The tiled frog stepping stone was also $6.00 at a local supermarket....
An Angel......
A new arborvitae that I hope will grow like the others that I planted years ago on the other side of the back fence.....
Another new gazing ball that Joe bought for me....
Well, that is the start of my Cottage Garden. I hope all of the new perennials take and start to grow and fill in.
We are on vacation this week and are attacking our Kitchen.....painting, new border, new light fixture, etc.
So I will not be around much in Blog Land this week.......

Not only do I love the boots with the chicken in the hens (you'll have to see my Rednesday post tomorrow), I adore the shoe laces. Your back yard is so beautiful Debbie. I loved it. I had to click on all the pics to enlarge them and just stare,,lol
oh, its looking soooo pretty!
It looks really lovely, Debbie! You've got great views out of your windows; I think I'd walk by them all day just to catch a glimpse outside!
Your garden is so pretty. I've always wanted a cottage garden, but our property is too shady to have a large variety of flowers. I do the best that I can with the shade lovers. I'm visiting from Wow Us Wed. I'm your neighbor over there.
Very pretty garden, I like all your decorations.

I like every spot in your yard. Great flowers and great decorations. We live about 2.5 hrs from Joplin and my cousin lost his entire farm in Redding, Ks. It's been quite a tornado season here in the midwest. Weve had a lot of wind damage close to us but no serious injury.
Wow! You do seem to find many interesting decor items at bargain prices. That's wonderful.
I came over from Fishtail Cottage. I noticed that you mentioned Japan which I also did in my current post about Dance to Raise Funds and Votes in Onenezz.
Love those tiles.
Love the staggered path, a lot! Your gardens are so tidy!

What a beautiful cottage garden. Love all the views from the house. I often just look out the windows at my garden. I think a view to a beautiful garden is a must and you have done this very well. I've never seen a dog angel before. It must have been meant to be.
Sweet garden, thanks for sharing.
Your garden is looking so sweet!! Mine is just now starting to look like maybe it is spring around here!
May God Keep watch over you,
