Our Front Porch is what you see when you walk up to the front of our townhouse, which we bought in 1978.......
I just want to let you know that this will be a long post as I will be showing you my Back Patio also......
Back to my Front Porch......
As I mentioned and many of you know , I live in a townhouse, a row of 10 homes.
You are greeted by 2 pots of impatiens which I may add have really taken off this past week......You can see the Welcome Mat is out......
The milk can was a $5.00 yard sale find many years ago...
Yes, I have been meaning to give it a nicer paint job.....
It is on the LIST!!!
My To Do List keeps getting longer though instead of shorter.....
I always hang one of the wreaths that I have made on my Front Door.
You can see , I am anticipating the 4th of July! And here is my Front Porch......
Since I was a child, I have dreamed of a large Queen Anne Victorian with a wrap around Front Porch......
And now back to the reality of my life.....I have had many different types of chairs on this porch over the 32 years that we have lived here and since it is not a covered porch, I always need something that will hold up in the elements.
This set was a Flea Market find.......
The chairs do dry fast with all the rain we have had.
I have a Battenburg Lace VINYL tablecloth on the table.....
The elements, remember......
I am planning on making some pillows using water resistant fabric.......
It is on the LIST!!!
My Flower Box......
All my Flowers are doing well so far with all the rain we have been having.....
Looking down toward my neighbors.....
My little flower bed under my Living Room window....
Yep, there is a big white gutter extension running through the flower bed...
It has rained so heavily that it floods the flower bed and overflows the mulch onto the sidewalk so Joe bought an extension.
It sort of reminds me of a slinky and could they make them any bigger or what????
Petunias.....
My Flea Market find fountain....
Looking down at my neighbor's yard....My rusty birdbath fills with some pretty stones......
My lantern is on a timer that comes on at dusk and off at dawn....
Yes, that is faux ivy wrapped around it....
And now , let's take a walk through the house and out to the back yard.......
These pics were taken from the back of my small yard looking at the back of our townhouse....
In the evening, after getting the sun all day long, there is lovely shade in the back...The backs of our row of homes were painted dark brown which draws the sun so several years ago, I painted the back of my house a beige color.....
You can see the brown to the right....When we had the awning put on the back, we did not extend it to the end of our property because if we needed to get up on the roof, there had to be an opening for the ladder.
So that is why I have been able to put so many pots in this corner where they get sunshine and rain water....
" Born to garden, forced to work", That's me!Most of my plant stands have come from yard sales and flea markets.....
A bird cage and some silk flowers on the wrought iron table.....
Impatiens.....You may remember that I bought this medallion at a thrift Shop for $3.00.....
The plant stand was painted yellow last year.....
The back door....
The chair was another yard sale find and was painted yellow last year also.....
I hung a faux garland.....See the mail man wind chimes.......
Most of you know that Joe is a mail man......
I plant my own hanging baskets.....
Which are filling in nicely....
You may have noticed that some of the candles are the Flameless ones. They are perfect for outside as they never blow out and cast a nice glow at night!!!
I have been working the past few nights so i will take pics at night when I am off.....A plant stand from last season painted yellow......
So there is my little back patio.....
I do have something up my sleeve in regards to the concrete .......
I may be dabbling with a bit of paint.......
It is on the LIST!!
I so love the reflection of the back of the house in my gazing ball.....And now for my Cottage Garden update.....
I bought a few more plants.....
The red leafed one I was able to separate into 2 plants . It is supposed to have red flowers from July to September....
The little plant is a shasta daisy for $1.00!
I trimmed a lot of the bottom branches of this tree so we could walk under it without crouching down......It also allows more sun into this side of the yard.....
Plants are starting to fill out and spread......
My cone flowers are starting to open up....
Impatiens are thriving in this old sprinkling can......I switched out this old garden medallion with the one you saw in pics before and placed this one up in the corner to mask the ladder a bit.......
And that is my tour of my front porch, back patio and an update on my little Cottage Garden......

Hi Debbie,
Thanks for visiting me. I really like your porch and yard too. Lots of interesting detail. You could wrap faux ivy around your slinky or grow some real vine to go over it. I like it tho.

Hi Debbie...
I just read the sweet note that you left on my french beauty and came right over, my friend! I do apologize for not getting by sooner. I'm so glad that you came by and took a peek at my ?Tea Rose bedroom last week. I've been trying to play catch up since then! Hehe! Isn't it funny...I don't know why we haven't met before now...especially since we both just adore Gloria! Anyway, I'm so very pleased to meet you, sweet lady!
Debbie, your front porch and back patio look amazing!!! Ohhh my goodness, I can't imagine all the hours of work that these beautiful areas have taken! I used to enjoy working outside but not so much these days. My friend, I thoroughly enjoyed my tour and I literally "oogled" over each and every photo! I just love how you have made your porch and patio area so unique...I would have never guessed that you lived in a townhome looking at your gardens! Gorgeous! Ohhh...you have sooo many pretties to see! I love, love, LOVE all the fabulous fountains and garden statues! And...your pretty gazing ball! What an awesome photo...that you were able to catch the reflection of your home in it! My friend, you definitely have a "green thumb"...all of your flowers look gorgeous!!! Your garden has such a delightful "cottegy" feel to it...love that! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful outdoor spaces with us...this was such a treat! Again...I'm just tickled pink to meet you, Debbie! I'm also adding your sweet blog to my list of blog follows! Looking forward to visiting with you, sweet lady!
Warmest wishes,
Chari
Nice to meet you Debbie! I love your outdoor rooms, and your flowers are blooming beautifully. My to-do list keeps getting longer too - I thought it was supposed to get shorter?? Have a pleasant day.
Thanks, we had a lovely visit on your back porch and yard. Those to do lists just keep getting longer - it's the nature of the beast. There's no way of shortening them. Enjoy your week!
Debbie,
What great spaces! You've done a wonderful job with your front porch and back patio.
I would love to sit out in the back and enjoy all the plantings that you have. The finds you painted yellow are terrific. Many great details!
Your porch is just delightful!! Thank you for stopping by my blog. I'm always happy to find another person who lives to decorate a year-round tree. How fun that you decorate soooo many at Christmas!! I can't wait to explore your blog further.
Every photo here has something just adorable in it! Beautiful areas you have created. I have a "It's on the list" mindset too.
Hi Debbie,
Your porch and gardens are just lovely! It is all so welcoming! What a great view you have when you sit on the porches.
All the Best,
Christine
Hi Debbie, I think of you all the time but somehow life always gets in the way of my visiting you. So glad I stopped today. Since I too lived in a townhouse, I am always blown away by how you find a way to put so much in a small designated space. That is a compliment. Your back yard, the porch is so beautiful. Your condo assn is amazing that they let you put the lattice between properties. We were not allowed to do that. That lake was less than 50 ft from our back door so maybe that had a big something to do with it. No matter, we are not there anymore, lol. This is a real cottage garden/porch and if I did not know you lived in a t/h I would never guess from the pictures. "On the list......." you are so funny to me. The busiest person always scratches off the most items on their lists. Oh yes, I have one of those "White tubes", if not the rain off the roof would come gushing out onto our neighbors driveway/patio. Lovely are they not? Last year my Pentas were high and covered it, this year the new crop are "drawf" pentas. Who knew they had two sizes? You have done an incredible job on both the front and back entrances of your beautiful home. Blessings
Debbie, I love your front porch! it's so colorful and perfectly you!!! I came by via Susan's party, but I missed it myself. I took pics of my pergola all dressed up this afternoon (with the 2 hour lull in the rain), and I REALLY hope you'll stop by and take a peak, and let me know what you think of the progress! :)
xo,

Debbie, Your front and back porches/gardens are so inviting. There are so many pretty little touches that make them yours! I love the little yellow chair and plant stand, as well as the lantern and the pot with hen and chicks. Most of all, I love the flowers. You have a green thumb, Debbie!
Hugs, Beth

Hi Debbie!
I'm finally catching up on everyone's posts from last week. :-)
Even though you don't have a huge yard or wraparound porch, you've done a beautiful job making use of the space you have! So lovely!! I love all your bright pots of flowers; they really pop with the yellow painted chair and plant stands! There's so many cute things to look at too. I love things that draw the eye around the garden and make you look into all the corners! It's so much fun to "discover"!
Debbie,
I am tickled pink...you are so exuberant and joyful!
I am delighted beyond words you’ve shared your bounty on summer’s “Vintage Video” on my blog!
