GONE CRAZY FOR HALLOWEEN!!!!

I have gone crazy for Halloween in my PINK Dining Room!

But before I get to that......

We just keep getting more and more rain!!

This urn is something that I brought home from our church flea market with plans of using it next year. I put it out in the back yard on Sept. 20th.
I took this picture yesterday on Oct. 1....look at how much rain we have had in that time period!!!!

This is itself is actually pretty scary!!!

And now on to my Dining Room that I decided to decorate for Halloween instead of Fall....

I have not really decorated for Halloween in years since the boys were kids.....

But I was so inspired last year by all the wonderful Halloween decorations out in Blog Land that I decided to do some Halloween decorating again.....

I am going to take you on a tour of my Dining Room....

Here is a little vignette that I have set up in the one corner......

The witch, which I think is rather unique , is something I bought at our church Flea market last year. The woman who donated it said that she bought it in Cape May, N.J. and paid over $100 for her!!

Her hands, face and feet are ceramic like.

I love her ugly toe nails!!

I also like that her clothes are different....

I added the spiders to her hat and vest.....

There is a button on her sleeve and when you press it, her eyes flicker red and she cackles that witch's cackle!!!

I changed my pink topper on this round table to an ivory one and I bought this black spider web lace topper on Ebay......

I love playing with the Candle Light feature of my camera......

I also made use of the window that divides the Dining Room from the Living Room......

I went to the Dollar Store the other day, went crazy and had a blast!! So many cool things for Halloween!!!

The Sign and the Spider Web are from the Dollar Store.
The bats and spider are from a yard sale.....

I decided I would leave my lamp in place.....

I mainly stayed with a black and white color scheme in this corner and in most of the room since the Dining Room is painted Pink and Green and very Victorian looking.....

I love the black spider web lace against the white tablecloth.....

The white pumpkin and candy eye balls in the crystal dish are from the Dollar Store.
The black bottle and the rubber eye balls and gray skulls in the jar are from Micheal's.
The silver skull is part of a Salt and Pepper set from Target along with the little gray mice which were $1.00 at Target.

This was a frame from the Dollar Store that I bought about a year ago that I spray painted white and the picture inside is copied from the Graphic's Fairy.
The Twisted Twig sign was copied from another site which I cannot remember from last year.
The black branch tree is from my Halloween village.

The skull , that I bought at Micheal's , is placed in a Sterling Silver antique wedding basket.

I set up this little vignette on my marble topped stand.

The black candelabra, the crow, the tombstone and the silver skull are from the Dollar Store!!
The mouse was $3.00 at Target.
More skulls in a crystal dish and the bottle with the black topper is a yard sale find that I took out of my Powder Room.....

This is another corner.....

This Fiber Optic Spooky House is something I bought on Clearance at target a few years ago.....
I placed it on a silver tray on top of another stand....

My Silver Tea and Coffee Set is always on my Stereo.....

Again, I stuck with a Black and White theme.....

The crystal vase has some black silk roses with white baby's breath and a black Halloween branch with bats on it that I bought at Micheal's.

This mouse( or maybe it is a rat)which is twice the size as the other one, I bought at the Dollar Store.....
More black roses and a black spider.....

This vignette is on top of a cabinet that is against my Fake Window ( a pass through into the kitchen that I covered with curtains)

The black skull is something Joe bought for me at a local grocery store. It is glued to a wood candlestick that I spray painted gray.
The small gray skull and the white skeleton head votive holder are also glued to wood candlesticks that I also painted black and gray.....

Oooops! You can see that I used tape to hold the rubber eyeballs in the skull.....
The gray skull is the other part of the salt and pepper shaker set from Target.

I had this terrarium and I decided to Dabble a bit with it.....

The little tomb stone is from the Dollar Store.....
And the black spider lace scarf was also bought on Ebay....

With the candlelight lit....

Remember the silver tree that I showed you a few posts ago from our church Flea Market.....

Now you knew that since I had a Fall tree in the Living Room, I would have to have a Halloween tree too!!
If you missed the post on my Fall decorations and tree in my Living Room, please click HERE..

This tree is not a very sturdy branched tree so I had to use ornaments that were light in weight......

The spider web ribbon that I used to make the bow for the top of the tree is from the Dollar Store.

There is a black crow and a black owl, poking his head out from the back, at the top of the tree.....

Remember when I showed you the Skeleton Lady ornaments that I bought in Ross's ???

Well, here are the 3 of them......

The styrofoam pumpkin heads and skull are from Micheal's, the skeletons are a garland from the Dollar Store and the bats are from Target. They were $1.00 a pack and I punched holes in them with a darning needle to thread the hook in to hang them.....

This ghoul is from the Dollar Store...

Looking in from the Kitchen....

All lit up at night....

My Halloween village is set up underneath the tree.....

I bought this village many years ago at JoAnn Fabrics when the boys were young......

I have added to it over the years using pieces from Lemax's Spooky Town found at Micheal's.....
The fabric is something else I picked up from our church flea market. I think it had a Halloween look to it....

Lit up at night....

Close ups.....

Love the way the house looks at night lit up.....

I still kept out some of my Victorian things......

Added a bow to a black pumpkin bought at Micheal's and the box was a gift from my dear friend, Anne Marie....

Now moving around to the last part of the Dining Room.....

This is the top of my Hutch....
Joe had someone he worked with make this ceramic house for me the very first year we were married so it is 33 years old!!!

Another Ghoul from the Dollar Store....

Told you I love how it looks at night...

And the other window dividing the Living Room from the Dining Room.....

Joe bought the mirrored bat stick on's at Target and the Boo sign was also at Target. Both were $1.00.
The Witches Way sign is from the Dollar Store......

I hope you enjoyed the tour of my Dining Room and as you can see, I did not spend a fortune on decorations either.

And now I want to take you into my Kitchen......

As many of you know, we painted our Kitchen in May. I totally love the red.....

I am so anxious to decorate it for Christmas but for now, I have added some Fall decor .....

A few pumpkins added to the fruit in the baskets....

Can you tell that I REALLY LOVE the candlelight feature......

My fall runner with the orange in it.....

I love this wall.....

A Harvest banner hung over my wash board ( the Christmas Tree Shop)....

Okay, enough already... I know!!

But this is how I have my house most of the time with all these ambient lights on......

Can you see my candy bar????

You know I am just dying to decorate this for Christmas, don't you?????

Okay, the Candy Bar......

Amazing what a little candy corn can do????

These were crocheted by me many moons ago......

Towels from T.J. Max....

Awhile ago, I showed you my new little chandy with the gourd tea lights in the votives......

Looking out to the Den....
Can't really see the Fall colors on the glass shade to the left.....

Fall oven pads.....

A Fall Rooster and colored leaf bottles from the Christmas Tree Shop.....

Okay, one last pic at night.....

This little box was a yard sale find for $1.00 and I added some of my Fall florals and some glittered felt leaf stickers to it......
Perfect for the Kitchen with a bowl of eggs and a cookie tin on it.....

And here is where I found a home for it.....

Okay, I hope I haven't bored you?????

To see a few Fall touches in my Powder Room and Nelson Crest ( my Victorian Doll House) all decked out for Halloween along with some pictures of the front of our home lit up at night with new Orange LED lights, please click HERE

Wow Deb, you went all out and it all looks so spooky wonderful! I love the bats. I don't know why, they creep me out if I am out at night and see them swooping, but I love them for Halloween, bats and crows. Your witch is such a great decor item. Girl, you put me to shame. I am mostly a pumpkin and fall leaves decorator. I am looking forward to your next post. Oh, I love the candlelight pics and I love the ambient lighting too. Debbie, This is what I love about blogging. Our styles are totally different, I don't do "witches" in any way, never let my girls dress up in witch or vampire customes, yet I love coming to your home and seeing it all so "ghoulishly" done. Is that even a word? It is now. You could write a book. A coffee table book or a how to book. What you do is far the most unique decorating for all the special days of the year I have ever seen. That is a compliment! Thank you for alerting me that you did the Halloween decorating. As you could see, I did my decorating with one little "scaregrow" and oh yes, we have a lighted pumpkin in the window. When my children were young I did more, but usually stayed within the "nice" Fall aspect and not Halloween per se. That being said, I have never seen a witch like yours. I have seen a lot of witches in professional stores around the country in our travels and never one quite as special. You did indeed get a bargain at the church flea market. Again, you need to think about: professional decorating for parties, a book....what you do in a Victorian home, a townhome to boot is just too amazing not to show all the world outside of us bloggers. Big hugs, Lynn

Hi Debbie! I'm soooo happy to be back to blogging and visiting again! Your Halloween vignettes are so fun and spooky! I see we shop at lots of the same places and have the same tastes! BTW, how in the world did you get the pic of me with my ugly toenails? Please remove it!!!! LOL

I think the witch's ruby red lips are the most gruesome part of her! It's probably not lipstick, but some hapless creature's blood!

Well, for someone who hasn't decorated for Halloween in years, you did it like a pro! I LOVE that witch! She's so fantastic, and like nothing I've ever seen. And the silver tree looks amazing too. I never would have thought to use something like that in Halloween decorations, but it's so obviously perfect!

Hi Debbie,
Your talents for the best vignettes are amazing. I just loved seeing all this today and you know how I love black and white decor. This is perfect. I really do think you should have a tour for the Halloween season. Your friends would love to take a walk through to view your displays.
It is fabulous what you can get from the Dollar store that looks much more expensive. It is always on my list to stop by and check out what is new for only a dollar!!

I love your kitchen too and it will be wonderful this Christmas. I have that red in a guestroom and I love it too.
You are having so much fun with your camera and the pics are great in candlelight.
The witch at the beginning of your post is awesome.
Thank you for sharing and I look forward to seeing the rest when you post it.
Thank you also for stopping by for tea. It is always so nice to have you over.

This is an email from my dear friend, Anne Marie, who is also an amazing decorator. She does not have a blog.....yet! I am trying to talk her into one!!

Hello Debbie...Wow! Wow! Wow! Be prepared for a lengthy e-mail. I have a lot to say. It was well worth the wait for this post. I loved, loved loved it! I know I saw the witch before but she looks so different in this other vignette. I love how you added the spiders to her vest and hat. You have to love her toes! The table topper looks great. Love this whole vignette. The frame with the print of the lady from the graphics fairy is so old yet eerie looking. Love how you put the eyeballs in the skeletons heads; it gives them even more character. Love(I know I am using this word a lot but there is no other!) the Twisted Twig and Earth Worm signs. Love how you put the skull in the silver basket. You did make out good in the dollar store. Who says seasonal decorating has to be expensive. Love the fiber optic spooky house especially when lit up. It looks so nice on the silver tray. Love the mouse on your silver tea set/ tray and the black roses. Love how you glued the different things to spray painted candlesticks. The terrarium looks great. Loved all the things you filled it with. Nice spider scarf too. OK now about the silver tree. Can I say stunning! I think I changed my mind; if you still have the silver tree you offered me I will take it. You've inspired me! The tree came out so Wow! It's shimmery, spooky, haloweeny ( is that a word?) I love it! Can you tell? I love all the ornaments especially the skeleton ladies and the Styrofoam pumpkin heads. Spooky Town Village looks great as usual. Love the silver tree there with it. Like your black pumpkin with the spider bow and thanks for the mention on the pumpkin box. Don't think I really ever noticed the 33 year old ceramic house before. How neat to have that for so long. We do have the same small black mouse and the same witch's dessert plaque except mine is green and yours is purple. I like the fall touches you added to your kitchen. Love the candy bar and the kitchen towels with the pumpkins. The yard sale box that you dabbled with came out really nice. All your hard work is worth the effort. You are the queen of decor and an inspiration to all! Now I really need to get my act in gear and do my house! Wonderful job!! Love...Anne Marie

Wow Debbie! I would love your witch to come and visit too! Those bare feet and her animation are incredible. You got a bargain, but as I have found these ladies take up a lot of space so I can see why someone decided to get rid of her. My one witch who has her legs crossed was under $100 this year and I had a 25% off coupon and this year the same store wants $500 for her - get real!

You ahve totally gone all out. I love everything and of course your music gets me in the mood - especially to go and visit Disneyland!
