MOTHER NATURE'S TRICK ,RATHER THAN TREAT!!!!

Happy Halloween!!

No wait.....

or is it Christmas....

No, it is Halloween!!

Mother Nature decided to TRICK rather than TREAT the Northeastern seaboard of the United States!!

Up to 16+ inches of snow fell yesterday through out my area in the Pocono Mountains of Pa.

I originally planned a different post but I just had to show you these pics!!

In my last post , I showed you a pic of a tree in my neighbor's yard. I had planned to show you how beautiful the fall color of this tree is now.......

Stunning Fall Foliage......

And then this.......

Mother Nature created a different Masterpiece and decided to change us from Fall into Winter in a hurry!!

What a Metamorphosis!!

Same tree in the back ground!!

These first couple of pics taken in the front and back of my yard around 2:00 pm on Oct. 29.......

Guess I could kiss my Mums good bye!!

Looks like my chippy angel is wearing a white fur hat!!

The weight of the snow knocked down my wooden pumpkin sign!

Looking toward our road.....

That's not frost on the Pumpkin!

My Halloween lights on....

A weird type of orange glow in on the white snow!!

Isn't this a hoot!!

Here is a tree in my back yard around 2:00 pm....

Trees in the back yard.....

My neighbor's tree in the back yard hanging low with the weight of the snow!!

See it by the fence!

My bird house!!

About 8:00 pm at night on Oct. 29 with the tree hanging low.....

White against the black sky of night!

We got about a good 8-9 inches of snow!!

A pretty night time photo!!

And this tree is getting lower and lower to the ground!!

How much snow is that on my Bird house????

Taken this morning at 5:00 am with the snow ready to fall off my awning and the white trees against the black sky!!

Wait!!!

Did I see a witch flying by??????

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

I think it was more Witchy Woman than Mother Nature!!! BEAR didn't get to wear her costume...i don't think she was too sad :D our fire bush was split and laying on the ground yesterday...so sad...so many birds roost in there all year! 3 of our dogwood trees in the front yard are damaged...and now the fun begins = tearing down a campsite in the snow!!!
those lights cast a sweet glow :D

The snow sure was a surprise, but it certainly made beautiful pictures. Oh, wait, that was you. Were you freezing as you took these shots? They're great. As a retired teacher, I always say snow is wasted on a weekend.

Deb, the snow looks so fluffy and soft in your pictures and it looks beautiful. Now do I get a dirty look? I don't think anyone is quite ready for it yet. Your poor mums...love the lights on the snow. Looking forward to the pics of your get together. Have a wonderful time this afternoon. I know your guests will.

Beautiful pictures. It sure was a shock that the East got as much as they did this early in the year.

We got some and fast. Went into Hobby Lobby on Sat. and while walking in the first couple rows heard horrible thunder and them the lights went out. They we out for maybe 30 seconds and boy was it dark in there. Finished looking around while we heard rain hitting the roof. Checked out and when we walked out we were floored. There was probably and inch of heavy heavy snow and slush. In the time we were there it rained, sleeted hailed and snowed . Never have seen that happen before.

Great post but sure do hope that this is not going to be happening all winter.

Wow! Isn't it unusual to get this much snow so early? I hoe it melts away quickly. The trees and mums still have to finish their beautiful show!

Although nature did a trick it was a treat to see the Halloween lights on in the snow. It's such a beautiful scene...now on to Christmas. :-)
