EASTER DECORATIONS 2012, PART 1

I am just about done with my Easter decorating so I thought I would share my Living Room and the Kitchen, all decked out for Easter ,with you.

First , I just want to comment on these flowers. I showed you a picture of them in my last post and told you that they were from Joe . He gave them to me in remembrance of our First Date on March 8, 1975!

I was a senior in High School and 17 years old. He was 20 years old and someone that I worked with at Bingo Games that were held by the Fire Company that my BIL belonged to.
I was a checker and Joe was a caller. Now these bingo games had $1000 jackpots and paid out $25 - $50 cash prizes a game.
I put myself through Nursing School working at Bingo and baby sitting.
It was 17 degrees on our first date and Joe took me to the town where he lived which was 40 minutes away from my home town. His car ended up with a flat tire and I ended up sitting in George's Gas Station watching The Carol Brunnet Show with George , who I never met before , while Joe and one of his cousons who came to his aid, fixed the flat tire!
That was our first date. And our lives together from that point on, 37 years ago, has always been interesting.
LOL!!

One other thing before I take you on a tour of my Living Room....

19 years ago today was the Blizzard of 93 for the northeastern seaboard.
24 inches of snow was dumped on my little part of Pa.
Roads and Schools were closed for days, we were taken to work by the National Guard and we even had to have the snow shoveled off our roofs for fear the roof would collapse. It was quite memorable!!
And today, temps. in the 60's are predicted. But 1 year ago a week from today, we had 10 inches of snow here.
March is not over yet and has been one of our snowiest months here at times.....

Okay, the Living Room...

I have a cute little Easter Welcome sign above the Front Door......

A Happy Easter sign on the Hutch......

It is now filled with depression glass and angel figurines....

By the stairs, on top of a marble topped table , I have a cute little Bunny and eggs...

As we go around the room, this is what the one corner by my Dining Room looks like.....

And here is the one whole wall...

On the little half table by the chair is my fiberoptic Easter Tree.....

And a few other Easter goodies, many of which are yard sale finds....

A Wreath that I made several years ago on my Fake Window......

The Easter Plaques are from Michael's a few years back....

And my Living Room Easter Tree....

This is a 5 foot potted tree that I bought years ago on Clearance at Target after Christmas. It will now stay in the Living Room until I decorate for Christmas in November.
It will become a Patriotic Tree and then a Fall Tree before it goes back down our Storage Shed when the 7 Foot Living Room Christmas Tree comes back....

There is white lights on it and a set of LED lights which claim to be Pink but sure look lavender when lit....

There are lots of Egg ornaments and all kinds of other Easter Ornaments on this tree....

This is the Tree taken with the Candle light feature on my camera but taken in the day time....

These pics really show you the pastel colors that the tree takes on with the lights lit....

And now at night.....

I just love sitting in the chair next to this tree and absorbing the warm glow from this Easter tree...

This is the whole corner ........

I have a little girl's Tu Tu that is made out of tulle wrapped around the base of the Tree as a tree skirt. I bought it at a yard sale.....

Some of my Bunnies......

Love this Victorian style Bunny that I bought at Big Lot's many years ago.....

This is my childhood Easter Basket filled with some Faux Chocolate Treats.....

Last year when I mentioned that this was my child hood Easter basket, many of you were amazed that I still had it. It even has the same bow that my Mother put on it.....
So I found a picture of me , at the age of 3, and the basket !!
Please click HERE if you would like to read about it or get a good laugh out of me at 3 y/o!!

This is the table in the corner by the window.....

I added a few Easter things to it....

The eggs, in the vintage little Lamb Planter, I made last year.......

On the chair is a basket that my mother bought for me from someone she worked with that was making them and selling them.....

And My Bearington Bunnies that I always buy on clearance after the Holiday. These were 50% off and only a few Dollars each.....

I added a Bunny and some eggs to this 3 tired Vintage Table that is next to the Entertainment Center.....
The eggs have my sons names on them, Joey and Jimmy....

And this is the top of the Entertainment Center........

The Putz houses were bought at The Christmas Tree Shop a few years back......

The NutCracker Bunnies were a Flea Market find...

Taken in Candlelight...

And the tables on the other side of the Entertainment Center....

An Easter vignette set up on the marble topped table....

Looking towards the Front Door.....

A few Easter things added....

A chocolate Bunny, an egg and a basket....

And some Bunnies along with my Cherub on the small table by the front door.....

More Bunnies on the Plant Stand...
See where we put our keys and folding umbrellas???

And going down the Hallway to the Kitchen....

My Mother also bought these for me from someone who was making them and selling them where she worked. They are over 30 years old......

And I do not have too many Easter decorations in my Kitchen as it is hard to find anything in red for Easter.....

But I did manage to find a few things and in yellow too.....

My Hutch....

A rack of 3 Easter Plates....

And on the desk....

Some vintage Paper mache eggs....

The egg was made in Ceramics for me by my MIL and what is written on it is in Polish but I truly do not know what it means!!

Now you know that I LOVE that candle light feature.....

Well, that is Part 1 of my Easter Decorations.

Many of you have asked how I am feeling. Thanks so much for your concern. As far as the IBS goes, I think I am getting it under control except for yesterday when I really felt terrible. But I am good today.
My Ultrasound of the Thyroid came back and I have a multi-nodule goiter. I had blood work done this morning dealing with the thyroid and will be going to an Endocrinologist in the future , most likely for a needle biopsy to check for malignancy.
My sister just had this done too.....

Otherwise, I am GOOD!!!

So many lovely Easter decorations. It's been fun to look over your blog on my lunch hour. I'm soaking in all your special goodies and I'm especially smitten with your childhood Easter basket. What a treasure. I have my grandmother's Easter cookie jar on my blog today. I imagine she's looking down and appreciating that I've continued to enjoy all these years.

Best wishes with the thyroid. I've been working with an Endocrinologist for years. We discovered thyroid issues when we weren't able to have more children. Who would have guessed our adoption would turn into a such an amazing blessing.

Happy Easter, dear friend!

Oh how I just love seeing all of your holiday decorations!!! I wish I could be surrounded by all of my pretties and collections, but hubbys severe allergies has my home looking like it was decorated by a minimalist. Fortunately, I have the basement to display my treasures, but I would so love to have them all through my home as you do.

As always, looking very festive at Debbies house. I only got out about half of my Easter decor this year. Hubby and I was so busy working on beadboard in the living room I thought I wanted to keep it simple this year.

Glad you are feeling better Debbie. I had to laugh about your first date. My parents too talk about how they were late getting home on their first date in high school because my dad's car had a flat tire. To this day, everyone in the family teases them about that one.

I love seeing all your Easter things. I especially liked the table with the gloves and your wonderful trees. It's easy to see how much you love the holidays!

Thanks for sharing your home with us each week on my party.
