I was a checker and Joe was a caller. Now these bingo games had $1000 jackpots and paid out $25 - $50 cash prizes a game.
I put myself through Nursing School working at Bingo and baby sitting.
It was 17 degrees on our first date and Joe took me to the town where he lived which was 40 minutes away from my home town. His car ended up with a flat tire and I ended up sitting in George's Gas Station watching The Carol Brunnet Show with George , who I never met before , while Joe and one of his cousons who came to his aid, fixed the flat tire!
That was our first date. And our lives together from that point on, 37 years ago, has always been interesting.
LOL!!
One other thing before I take you on a tour of my Living Room....
19 years ago today was the Blizzard of 93 for the northeastern seaboard.
24 inches of snow was dumped on my little part of Pa.
Roads and Schools were closed for days, we were taken to work by the National Guard and we even had to have the snow shoveled off our roofs for fear the roof would collapse. It was quite memorable!!
And today, temps. in the 60's are predicted. But 1 year ago a week from today, we had 10 inches of snow here.
March is not over yet and has been one of our snowiest months here at times.....
Okay, the Living Room...
I have a cute little Easter Welcome sign above the Front Door......
It will become a Patriotic Tree and then a Fall Tree before it goes back down our Storage Shed when the 7 Foot Living Room Christmas Tree comes back....
So I found a picture of me , at the age of 3, and the basket !!
Please click HERE if you would like to read about it or get a good laugh out of me at 3 y/o!!
The eggs have my sons names on them, Joey and Jimmy....
See where we put our keys and folding umbrellas???
My Mother also bought these for me from someone who was making them and selling them where she worked. They are over 30 years old......
But I did manage to find a few things and in yellow too.....
My Hutch....

Many of you have asked how I am feeling. Thanks so much for your concern. As far as the IBS goes, I think I am getting it under control except for yesterday when I really felt terrible. But I am good today.
My Ultrasound of the Thyroid came back and I have a multi-nodule goiter. I had blood work done this morning dealing with the thyroid and will be going to an Endocrinologist in the future , most likely for a needle biopsy to check for malignancy.
My sister just had this done too.....
Otherwise, I am GOOD!!!

So many lovely Easter decorations. It's been fun to look over your blog on my lunch hour. I'm soaking in all your special goodies and I'm especially smitten with your childhood Easter basket. What a treasure. I have my grandmother's Easter cookie jar on my blog today. I imagine she's looking down and appreciating that I've continued to enjoy all these years.
Best wishes with the thyroid. I've been working with an Endocrinologist for years. We discovered thyroid issues when we weren't able to have more children. Who would have guessed our adoption would turn into a such an amazing blessing.
Happy Easter, dear friend!
I love your decorations so much! It must feel magical to live in your home!
Your Easter trees are divine. So cute.Richard from My Old Historic House.
I cannot stop drooling over all of your Easter pretties!
I hope you feel better dear!
Deanna
Once again you've got me wishing that I had room for a tree to be left up year round. Your Easter tree is just fantastic!
Happy REDnesday,
Carol
Such a fun post Debbie, love the story of how you met your husband & your first date and the darling photo of you and your Easter basket. Your decorations are enchanting as always.
Happy Rednesday!
Faux chocolate? At Easter? Oh, my, you really need THE REAL DEAL--sweet and gooey and oh, so, chocolaty!
Kids and Red
I enjoyed the story of how the two of you met. The polka dot bunnies are my favorites.
Hi Debbie! What a cute story of you and your hubby's first date! Now you never disappoint with your decorations. Easter looks wonderful in your house! I adore your precious hutch in your kitchen and you always have it looking wonderful.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Oh how I just love seeing all of your holiday decorations!!! I wish I could be surrounded by all of my pretties and collections, but hubbys severe allergies has my home looking like it was decorated by a minimalist. Fortunately, I have the basement to display my treasures, but I would so love to have them all through my home as you do.
Wow! You are ready for Easter, so pretty, love the Easter Tree! Thanks for visiting my blog, prayers for your health
You have so many lovely Easter decorations! Thanks for visiting Shabby Sweet Tea. I will follow you on my way out and have a look around. I am enjoying the music!

Wowzers Miss D! Beautiful spring lovelies are everywhere!!!! I would love to get in there and just sit and look!
I laughed out loud over your first date! The first three years of my life with my hubby were some sort of that experience. Something was always going wrong! HAHAHAH LOVE IT!

HI Debbie!
Oh how I love your decor!! But, holy cow..I just get tuckered out by all the work!! Jimminey You and your Hubs is like us we met in 77' 35 yrs. ago man no wonder I get tired just seeing your house we're not....no I will not finish that..LOL. And, if your luck is like ours..it has been a rollercoaster for all. In the end tho it just piddley stuff...so the devil can pester. All the thoughts going out for you...everything'll turn out fine.
As always, looking very festive at Debbies house. I only got out about half of my Easter decor this year. Hubby and I was so busy working on beadboard in the living room I thought I wanted to keep it simple this year.
Hugs,
Jann

Awesome idea and I love your job!
Thanks for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
Glad you are feeling better Debbie. I had to laugh about your first date. My parents too talk about how they were late getting home on their first date in high school because my dad's car had a flat tire. To this day, everyone in the family teases them about that one.
I love seeing all your Easter things. I especially liked the table with the gloves and your wonderful trees. It's easy to see how much you love the holidays!
Thanks for sharing your home with us each week on my party.
