My Craft/ Sewing Room 2012, Where I Create!!!

I have been working hard in my Craft/ Sewing Room to get it all straightened out and cleaned so I could photograph it for this weekend's parties especially the annual Where Bloggers Create Party hosted by Karen over at My Desert Cottage.

I did a much more detailed tour of my Craft Room last year. If you are interested, please click HERE.

First , I would like to show you what I create in this room...

These are the Victorian Style Crafts that I sell at 2 local Craft Fairs a year.

Working full time, 2 Craft Fairs is all I can handle.....

I used to sell on Ebay but that can be very time consuming....

Maybe some day, I will go back to selling on Ebay...

A Christmas Tussie Mussie...

And this year, since I started decorating my department at work, I have sold over 60 wreaths since Easter to co -workers!!!

This is a wreath that I just made for my neighbor...

This is the wreath that started it all....

A beach wreath.....

I am now known as the Wreath Lady!

This is something that Joe made to store all my undecorated wreaths.
I have it in our Guest Room since i do not have space for it in the Craft Room.....

He mounted a PVC pipe to a board after seeing the metal stand that A.C. Moore uses for the wreaths before they are decorated for sale....
And I always say he isn't handy....

And now, won't you please come on in to my Craft/Sewing Room?

This was my oldest son's bedroom and it is a small room, 10' x 10'.

Yes, that is a tree you are seeing and No , these pics were not taken at Christmas time.

I keep a tree up in this room year long and it is now decorated for Summer.

More in the Tree later in this post......

I do have lots of my "pretties" displayed in this room.....

They help me to feel creative.....

When you enter the room, immediately to the left is the closet where I have all of my " normal" clothes. Joe has the large closet in our bedroom because his Postal uniforms and Hockey jerseys need a closet of their own. All of my Scrub uniforms for work are in a smaller closet in our bedroom.

I bought the border in this room on Ebay and then matched the wall color to the border.

The Tile also came from Ebay....

It is too hard to get an air conditioner in the small window of the room unless Joe gets out on the roof and I pop the window out from inside.....so that is my fan that you see...

This tub is full of things waiting to be worked on.....

Most of my supplies are in these See Through Containers....

This is my "Mother" display....

These are pictures of all the women in my family and in Joe's family....

My parents, Joe's Parents and Joe's Paternal grandparents wedding pictures.....

My maternal and paternal grandparents and Joe's maternal grandparents.....

Laces, trims, glitter, venice lace, ribbon, etc.....

The shelves on the wall on each side of the window once housed my son's electronic equipment....

Paints, Buttons, Beads, Wood, etc.....

The drawers on wheels are for all of my ribbon flowers....

This shelf was a flea market find ....

Glues, electric scissors, price tags and more ribbon flowers....

The right side of the room....

I ripped the electrical wires out of this flea market chandy and decorated it up a bit....

My craft desk is an old computer desk and this is where is keep my lap top....

This is an old church chair that once sat on an altar that Joe bought for 5.00 and I dabbled a bit with....

I have sheet plastic on the desk top to protect it from glue....

You may remember in a previous post that I bought 2 old Sewing machine drawers at an Antique store.
Here is one after I refinished it (will show you more of it on a future post)

Ribbon, more beads, fringe, cameos, etc....

My little 9 inch TV and my DVD/CD player that I watch when crafting.......

More drawers on wheels filled with ribbon flowers......

And now on to some pretties.....

The long shelf close to the ceiling was once filled with my son's DVD collection.....

And now I will tell you about my Summer Tree.....

She is decorated with pink silk rose lights and lots of Butterflies.....

Tea cups, real and ornaments...... And birds.....

Ice cream cones and cup cakes and pink and white silk roses......

Love the glow of a tree at night....

Who said Trees are only for Christmas???????

I have trees up and decorated in my home for every holiday.....

If you would like to see more details on my Summer Tree, please click HERE

Moving around the room....

Pink depression glass and Thomas Kinkaide Pink Ladies....

Joe's Paternal Grandmother's Antique Singer Sewing Machine.....

And I do have sewing supplies in the drawers.....

That is Joe's Christening gown. Both my son's also wore this Christening Gown.....

The Lamp came from a Thrift Store....

An old Home Interiors Picture....

I did embellish the shade....

A vintage child's Sewing machine that was a Flea Market find.....

Vintage jewelry....

Vintage Sewing items....

The tissue box cover is one of the Victorian style crafts .....

Bears and Dolls.....

The vintage pink hamper houses most of my fabric...

The last side of the room.....

Some of my teapot collection....

More pretties on these shelves where my son used to have all of his books....

See the reflection of the Tree in the mirror.....

My Sewing machine is on top of a vanity table that my Dad built for my Mom....

I just painted this drawer green just the other day.....

And we are almost back to the doorway....

A vintage Sewing chest that I re- did.....

The lamp was my Mom's and I embellished the shade....

Decorating and Craft books on the shelves of this book case and in the basket....

And the sun is setting....

I hope you enjoyed the Tour....

Now for more room to work, I do sometimes set up one of my 2' x 4' folding tables that I use for my Craft Fairs.
And we do have a Storage Shed that we rent and I also have 9 tubs items to be embellished, 6 tubs of flowers and 2 more tubs of fabric stored there.
I guess I could use a large Craft Room but this one suits me just fine.....

Thanks for stopping in for the Tour of my Craft Room!

Joe has gone back to work and it has been a bit tough on him, walking all day. Thank God the temp.s are only in the 80's for this week......

I am linking up to these great parties.......

I love your craft room, Debbie! Just beautiful. I have two empty bedrooms now, too, so maybe I should give this a try. I do not have your ability to make things so gorgeous, though. I love your summer tree, too!

Debbie,

Your entire home is beautiful, but I honestly think my favorite room is your craft room. I simply love those two colors of pink and green together. I also think some of your best "pretties" are in that room. Its hard to believe its just 10x10....you have managed to get so many beautiful things in such a small space. I always read your entire post, then I go back and enlarge the pictures to see all the details. You are such an inspiration and have totally changed my life. Thank you so much!

Hugs,
Lynn

Great space, Debbie! I see we have a lot in common in our creative spaces. Most especially having the pretties out on display and I love when something is functional and pretty. I also love the clear storage containers. I need to be able to see what I've got or I forget, then buy more! Oh, and I love pink, too. It's an accent color in my room, but it works for me. Thanks so much for sharing your tour!

Hi Debbie,
Your room is Pretty,Pink and Perfectly decorated.
My craft supplies are packed away according to type in my back room and bedroom wardrobe.
If I'm knitting out comes the wool and away goes whatever I was working on. I like to create in a state of 'mild' chaos...in a little 'nest' of bits. A small space means creative, out of sight storage.
Have a good week
