Beverly over at How Sweet The Sound is celebrating her birthday this weekend with her special PINK and YELLOW Saturday party!!
Happy Birthday, Beverly!
Now what better for me to share with you today is some scenes from my PINK and YELLOW Guest Room...
I know many of you have seen this room before but I have a LOT of new Followers (THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH) and maybe not everyone has seen this room.....
To read the original post on my Guest Room, please click HERE...
There are lots of shelves in this room as it was my youngest son's room before he moved out....

Now on to my Critter story....
This is where I sit and Blog.....
As I was sitting here on Tuesday afternoon, I heard some noise right outside the window.....
I look out and this is what I see......
Sorry , the pics were taken through the window.....
A young Ground Hog!!
I think he is looking in at me........
Yes, he IS standing!!!
I am sure this is what he was thinking...
" Now how the heck do I get out of here..."
Can you believe that he actually jumped up on this old metal container that was once used for milk bottles ( I have it filled with garden tools) to get a better look around... ...
.
"Maybe over that way I can get out....."
" Is that someone looking at me through that window?"
" What is that in there?"
When I tried to open the window, he ran......
For what he thought was his life, I am sure....
" Now how the heck did I ever get in here?"
" HELP!"
Then he ran over by the shed where we store our 16 foot ladder behind it.....
" Maybe if I stay still and try to blend in , she won't see me..."
" Is it working?'
" Can I try to get out over here?"
" Well, that didn't work , now did it!"
" Yikes! What is she holding that keeps flashing?"
On the other side of the shed......
" Maybe over here in this corner, I can get out...."
" She is still watching me!
If I just hang here, maybe she won't see me...."
" Let's see..... can I get through here...if I dig a little bit...???"
" She is STILL watching me!"
" Okay, I am digging through.... almost there...."
" Made it.... Freedom!"
And he finally dug through into my neighbor's yard!!
How he got into the back yard, I have no idea. The reason why we put up the lattice was to keep critters out when we had our sweet Savanna....
Never in a million years did I expect to see that small little face looking in at me while I sat at the computer!!!
I am so glad that I caught it on camera!!

Now I have to tell you a rather funny story that happened the same night ...
When I sleep in the evening before going into work, I pull down the room darkening shades on the windows. After I get dressed when I get up to get ready for work, I usually pull up the shade on one window half way for a little light in the room so Joe doesn't kill himself at night on his way to the bathroom.
I open the shade and I am thinking to myself, "now what is that dangling outside the window.... a rope.... no..... I think it is a ......"
"Joe, there is a SNAKE outside our window!!!!!
Joe yelled " A WHAT??????? "I said " A SNAKE!!!!!"
Now remember , we do have a 2 story house with our bedroom being upstairs!
There was a garter snake dangling from my second story bedroom window!!!
LOOKING in at ME!!!!
Joe opened the window and was hitting the screen with a ruler. The snake was STUCK!!!
He had to open the window from the top and slide the ruler down and dislodge the snake which was caught in the groove between the top and bottom half of the window until it fell down in the flower bed below!!
I was half way to work by then!!!!!
I was not hanging around to see him play with trying to get that snake off my bedroom window!!2 Critters looking in the window at me twice in one day??????
No , I do not have any pictures of the snake hanging from the window!! Would have been a good one to get though....
It was too dark and I was too afraid!!
When I come home in the morning, Joe was sitting on the front porch and I asked him if he looked for the snake.
He said it was surely long gone....
I looked in the flower bed and I said " I think you killed it"
I run inside to get my camera.........
As I am taking this picture of the snake, I am looking at it........
See it on the bush????

So I take a better look, start to LAUGH and pick it up and put it on the sidewalk.....
HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
We were hysterical with laughter!
Thank God it was dark and the neighbors weren't watching Joe, the Snake Slayer in action!!
LOL!!!

Hi Debbie, Love your home! You have such a touch for decorating! I enjoyed reading about and seeing the snake and groundhog stories too. Fun post, Debbie!
Debbie- You have so many pretty things your home looks like a well-dressed shop! LOVE IT! I love all your soft, sweet pink and yellows.
How funny about two "critters" in one day. I will have to call the "weather strip slayer" if I find any dangling. How funny is that? I would have probably wet my pants laughing- xo Diana
What a beautiful room, lucky the guest who stays there!
How I would love to have seen the ground hog. Poor baby, I bet he was scared half to death.
Glad the snake was not really a no-longer alive one, LOL.
Oh what a pretty yellow bedroom. I love the comforter and all your decorations. Thanks for sharing your story about your outside visiters! Have a great weekend.
Nancy
That is absolutely hysterical about the weather stripping. Your groundhog is quite the devil. We have a HUGE one that has absolutely killed our garden despite the Fort Knox that Chris built around it.
I'm completely smitten with the tea cup collection in your sweet room.
Hi: Love your rooms, yard and stories...keepem comin....lol
Everything is so pretty in your guest room Debbie! And I loved reading the "critter playdate"! LOL Thank you for sharing at TTF and have a wonderful weekend!
I had a friend who almost died from weatherstripping....true story...they're dangerous...LOL
Thanks so much for linking up your cottage pretties with us!
You have quite the collections of different interesting items and they are arranged quite nicely. I do agree that shelf will look great white. Your critter stories are cute and killing the water hose is just awesome, LOL.
Debbie girl, you can decorate and you can make me laugh so hard! I LOVE the stories! Mr,. Ground Hog was too funny watching you! HPS and enjoy the weekend! I love knowing you!
Okay I am still laughing ! You know I love your room but the stories ... priceless (())
I thoroughly enjoyed looking at your photos. You have a real skill for decorating and organizing! Your "snake" story is priceless! Great post.
Just gorgeous! Perfect for Pink Birthday celebration.

A pretty room and a great post for Pink Saturday.

Carol
You had me cracking up over the SNAKE! Remember, I told you I was on vacation this week and we are gutting our bathroom? Well, we pulled down the old ceiling and what did we find???? Not one, not two, not even three...but FOUR snake skins!!!!!! Thank GOD there were no LIVE snakes...or at least none we have seen yet. However, I now have the heebie-jeebies when I walk into the UNfinished bathroom. Fernando thought he would be funny and put the BLACK hose to the washing machine across the toilet last night. Did you hear me SCREAMING in PA????????? NOT a good thing to find at 2:00 a.m. when you already had to go to the bathroom!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny stories, Debbie. And great shots of the ground hog. I surprised he stood still for you to get the photos. '-)
Debbie, love your critter story..I'm sure that little ground hog was so frightened..and lol on the 'snake' haha..glad it wasn't a snake..

Debbie this room is darling. You must have had so much fun collecting and decorating it. I love the shelves all with pretty trim. Yellow is my color for 2012. I love it. Would love it if you would share at Sunny Simple Sundays. http://sunnysimplelife.blogspot.com/2012/07/sunny-simple-sunday-8.html

i love the victorian ambiance to your sweet room and decor. I have always been partial to victorian decor and the era. That ground hog too by the way is so cute...i have never seen one before. Thanks for visiting my place today, have a lovely week ahead. Mica @ The Child's Paper
So funny about the snake! I love the yellow color, such a pretty shade. I could steal that ground hog! I've recently been hooked on tea cups, loving yours. You have some really beautiful treasures. So glad you shared your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – your creativity helped make the party a success!
Oh my! I am still laughing about the snake slayer story.

Thanks so much for sharing this cute story on Simple & Sweet Fridays. Your yellow guest room is gorgeous. I have never seen a gopher that close up and the snake story, Couldn't stop laughing. Your house is never boring.
Jody
Debbie- I love when a home is filled with things people love. Your tea cup collection reminds me of mine, although mine is much smaller. I love those vintage tea cups with their individual images. And what a neat garden friend!
Hi Debbie, you need those shelves for all of your treasured items. The room is such a lovely shade of yellow. Mr. groundhog looked almost like a faux one in the first few pics. I got a goo laugh out of the weather stripping snake. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
Hugs,
Jann
What an action packed post Debbie! I loved looking at your lovely home but the groundhog story fascinated me the most because we don't have them over here! They are so cute but I'm guessing they are kind of pesky!
Thank you so much for joining in with my Say G'day linky party! I'm so glad you linked up this fun post!
Best wishes,
Natasha in Oz
Oh Debbie your little visitor was a hoot! Thanx for coming to the party!
Hi Debbie, Your pink and yellow bedroom is perfect for Beverly's party! Gorgeous - it looks so romantic in the light!
