Once again, I am honored and flattered!! Thanks so much, Kathryn!!

Congrats to Elizabeth over at Southern Color whose post tied with me as the Most Viewed!

Please check out and maybe join in on the fun with Make It Pretty Monday!

I hope all of you have had a great week!!

First off, I want to wish my Hubby, Joe, a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY on Friday, August 17th!

We will be having a little pizza party with the kids coming over . We enjoy having them over....

Blogging News......

For the time being, I have decided to cut back on my posts to once a week for both my blogs, this one and my Christmas blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas.

By the beginning of September, a busy time of year will be starting for me with Fall and Halloween decorating, wreaths that I have orders for and making crafts for my upcoming Craft Fairs that I do November.

Joe and I are also on vacation for the first 2 weeks of October and we may be doing some one day trips along with a lot of seasonal things we have to do around the house.

So I will be posting here on Debbie-Dabble once a week on Thursday mornings. I plan on including everything that went on for the entire week from crafting to decorating to shopping and my garden update.

It will be easier for me to work on the post for the entire week when I get time and not be too stressed out by posting.

So each post will be up for a week and you can stop by whenever you get the time to spend with me!!

Hopefully, this will allow me to spend more time visiting with all of you!

Sound good?

And now for what I have been up to last week........

You may remember in my last post that I left you with a bit of a "tease".

I showed you the items above and said that you would have to wait and see what I was doing with them.

We will get to that in a minute but first I want to THANK all of you for your best wishes for our Anniversary this past Sunday.

Joe bought me a dozen beautiful roses!!

Love the color!!

And we ordered from our favorite Italian restaurant and had a lovely quiet Dinner at home.

The temps. are finally a bit cooler here and we have been getting some rain....

Enough that there is actually some water in the bird bath!

Splash, splash!

And enough to water the garden and wet the sidewalks!!

I have also taken down my Patriotic decor in anticipation for Fall Decorating.

For the time being, I hung a Beach wreath that I made in the Living Room on the large mirror....

I had planned on decorating my little Living Room tree in a beach theme to match the wreath but time got away from me and since August is half over, I will probably just wait and decorate it for Fall the last week of August.

So it just has white lights on it for now....

And I just wanted to share my Thrift Store finds for this week. I found a few goodies but not like last week's Mother Load. I think all those dishes that I found last week were a once in a life time find!
If you missed that post, please click HERE.

This is what I bought at Half Price Day at Volunteer's of America........

This cute little wicker suitcase that I am sure once held a set of picnic dishes.....

The inside of it is in great shape. I may use it for storing fabric or lace.....

The lamp shade will be used in my Kitchen.....

I have several pieces of this set of dishes but only 2 dinner plates. Now I have 3....

I love to use this set around Christmas time because the scenes on it remind me of a Dicken's Village, don't you think?

And isn't this darling????

" Believe... Amazing Grace... How sweet the Sound"

It will go out in the garden, I think....

All of that for a mere $4.18 at half price!!

WHOA!!

I then picked up this cute red wagon at Salvation Army for $3.99....

I can do a Fall or Winter arrangement in this .......

and 2 more items....

Now how could I resist this darling yellow and pink Christmas Tea Light Birdhouse!

This will find a home in my Guest Room this Christmas season.....

It was $3.99

And for 49 cents, another shaker for glitter in my Craft Room after I spray paint the lid either pink or green...

Well, that is all the treasures I found this week....

And now on to what I did with these things...

A Shower Curtain, a Tablecloth , Border and Venice Lace......

My Upstairs Bathroom is the smallest bathroom known to Man!!

My upstairs is divided in 2 parts. The front half is my bedroom which is as large as the living Room, 16' x 20'!!

And the other back half of the upstairs is the hallway, 2 small bedrooms and the bathroom.

What the builder's were thinking of when they designed our townhomes, I have no idea!

You have not seen my much of my upstairs bathroom before because it is too hard to photograph since it is so small and with my 2 sons using it all the time, I was never able to have it looking " Pretty"!!

So last weekend when I had 3 days off, I decided to change that.....

Here is what it looked like before with everything taken out of it......

To the right is a small sink with a cabinet.....

Then the toilet....

And the tub....

That is it.....

SMALL is not the word....

maybe TINY is a better term for it!!!

Now it was painted a beige and I did have a wall paper border up that I really like......

So I decided to leave up the existing border and in true Victorian style, add another border to it....

I discovered that the deep tan color that I used on the top half of the walls in my Den was a perfect match to the new border which I bought at a flea market about 2-3 years ago for $10.00 for 4 rolls made by Croscill !!!!!

Painting this small room was no easy feat because it was hard to fit a ladder in there......

I painted the walls above the tub standing on this step stool and then I papered the walls standing on a slightly larger step stool in the tub!!!

There was no where to hold a paint can so I had to climb up and down about what seemed like a thousand times!!!

My poor arthritic knees have been screaming for days now!!!

LOL!

So here are the walls freshly painted and I still have about 1/3 of the can of paint left......

And the new border added to the old one.....

But I thought that since I had enough border, I would go all out in true Victorian fashion and add another row of border....

To the Ceiling!!!!

Can I just tell you how hard doing those corners were especially suspended on a step stool!!!!!!

I am loving how it looks......

Okay, now after I painted and put the border up, it was time to DABBLE......

Here is a pic looking in at the finished bathroom.....

Please bear in mind how hard it is to photograph such a small room and did I mention that since it is in the center of the house, there are NO windows!!!

This is the wall to the left behind the door......

I weeded out some of the things that I had in the room previously and chose to keep items that went well with the new look.....

All the florals were from Home Interiors because I have had this color scheme in this bathroom for years and now they go so well with the new border......

There are 3 small pictures , 2 shown here, that I bought at a yard sale years ago for $3.00 for the 3......

The planters are Home interiors.....

This is one of 2 prints that I bought several years ago on Ebay and framed......

Now you can only see this wall when you come into the bathroom and close the door!!

LOL!!

So you are either have to be sitting on the toilet or in the tub!!!

HA HA HA!!!

Joe asked me what I wanted for our 34th Wedding Anniversary and we usually get something for the house so I said I wanted new towels and rugs.....

I went to Kohl's and these towels and the rugs , which you will see shortly, were on sale plus I had a 15% off coupon and a $10.00 off card for a $10.00+ purchase.

I spent a total of only $65.00 for the towels and rugs!!

This is the shower curtain that I have had for some time now. Having washed it several times, many of the original beads that were on it fell off into my washer and dryer....

So I sewed on new beads that I already had and use for my crafts and a matching gimp trim.....

I use tablecloths for the Victorian Style crafts that I do because it is cheaper than buying fabric.

I had bought this tablecloth several years ago at Boscov's Department store for $10.00.

Now there was already some yardage cut off of it but I had enough to make a valance, along with some other things, and the fabric matched the new border !!

I then added some of the venice lace that I use for my crafts to the bottom to trim it off......

And here is how it looks together with the shower curtain and towels.........

And with the borders in the background....

I had originally had these planters on the walls inside the shower so I gave them a new coat of Rustoleum Metallic Gold Spray Paint and put them back up....

One on each side of the shower....

As we are moving around this small Bathroom, next to the tub is the toilet.....

I have had this shelf unit above the toilet for many years....

About 12 years ago, when I painted this bathroom last, I had also decided to Dabble a bit with this shelf unit.

I had bought a roll of embossed wall paper, Anaglypta ( or Lincrusta is another name for it), at a yard sale.

I decided to coat it with a stain instead of paint....

And I applied it to this shelf unit and the cabinet under the sink...

I still like the look of it....

And I had also added some of the old wall paper border to the shelf....

Some pretties on the top of the shelf unit...

Here is the other print that I bought on Ebay and framed.....

More of the shelf unit....

I see that I need to replace my son's travel clock with a nicer one......

I covered a tissue box cover with the tablecloth fabric and added trim and ribbon flowers....

And decided to do the same thing with the toilet paper holder...

I used the same venice lace on this one as I used on the valance...

Now we are moving over to the corner where the sink is...

Another floral spray above the medicine cabinet which we hope to replace soon.....

Please remember how hard it is to photograph this room.....

I almost fell backwards in to the tub doing this!!!

LOL!

Lights on.....

Lights off....

More yard sale and flea market finds....

Yes, those are purple votive cups!!

A night light that I made....

And now the sink area.....

Mouthwash is in the wine decanter.....

The green glass cup and soap dispenser along with the purple glass soap dish came from Target. They were on sale and cost about $30.00.....

The handmade lavendar soap in the soap dish I bought from a fellow crafter....
Her soaps are just wonderful and very fragrant so the whole bathroom smells of lavendar!!

Not much of an area by the sink to work with , huh??

And finally, these are my new rugs......

Very soft and shaggy.....

Again, the cabinet under the sink has been covered with stained anaglypta wall paper....

When the boys were young and I would be getting up ( I sleep before going to work at night) to get ready for work, I did not want to wake them so I got ready using the downstairs Powder Room.

Joe used to get up at 5 am then to get ready for work so he also used the downstairs Powder Room so he would not wake the boys.

The Powder Room became our bathroom and the upstairs one, became the boy's bathroom.

Now that the boy's have moved out, I was able to reclaim the upstairs bathroom and I now have a "Pretty" Bathroom!!!

And with all the redecorating that I did in this bathroom, it only cost me about $100 - $ 125!!

I used a lot of what I already had at home. The new towels, rugs and the bath accessories are what cost most of the money.....

I am off now for 3 nights and the temps. here are supposed to only be in the 70's with low's in the 50's!!
Heaven to my ears!!

I will be starting to make some of my wreaths and crafts for the Fall and Halloween and for my upcoming Craft Fairs. I will also be catching up with some house work and enjoying the cooler temps.

And I will be soaking those screaming knees of mine in my tub, gazing around at my "Pretty" Bathroom!!

I hope this coming week is a great week for all of you and I will see you next week!!

Debbie,

First of all wish Joe a very happy birthday!

Im glad you to had a wonderful dinner at home for your anniversary. The roses he chose are beautiful!

I was almost certain from your tease we were going to see a bathroom makeover and I LOVE it! The colors are so pretty! Before we remodeled our bathroom a couple weeks ago, ours was basically the exact same size as yours, so I can relate!

Only you would have thought to put the border on the ceiling! What a brillant idea and I think thats what really makes it Victorian! Your rugs, towels and accessories are the perfect match to everything! Guess where you can find an exact replica of your medicine cabinet.....uh huh, in my bathroom! Identical!!!! That too is on my "to buy" list!

Enjoy your days off and the wonderful temps you are having. I cannot wait to get in the 50s and 70`s here in TN! It was 90 today!!!!

Talk to you soon!
Lynn :)

You know your my first repeat "Viewers Choice" award - your a star. I think that blue plates gave you a leaping start! Love what you did with you bathroom, so pretty now. But I think our bathroom is smaller than yours, you literally step in, sit down and do business, stand up and wash hand, steps out an leave. I would kill for a larger bathroom. Yours is so pretty! Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – you helped make the party a success!

Hi honey
So much to comment on I don't know where to begin.
I guess with wishing your sweet hubby a belated Happy Birthday and to both of you congrats on your special anniverary.
You must teach me how to add so many photo's to a post. Honey I am lucky to get three on mine and that takes me hours. How long does it take you to do a post like this.
I too am not able to post much more than a post a week it is just too much going on out here to take care of.
Your bathroom redo turned out lovely. I hate to say it but my bath is even smaller than yours and not fixed up with all your pretties either. Just a plain Jane.
Hope you enjoy your new bath and
that you have a gorgeous week.
Love
