What I Did This Summer, 2012!

I want to offer my heart felt prayers and well wishes to all those who are being affected by Isaac.

Please stay safe!!

Also,

HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND!!

I am off Friday and Saturday nights but have to work Sunday night as it is my Holiday to work ( have to do every other Holiday) but I will be off Monday night so we will be having our little Holiday get together with the kids on Monday evening...

Joe has a 4 day weekend as this weekend is his Saturday off.

Did you know that every letter carrier in the United States only gets every 6th Saturday off?????

Here it is, the end of August and almost the beginning of September!

Is this year racing pass us or WHAT?????

Remember when you were a child and returned to school after being off all Summer and your teacher asked you "What did you do all Summer ?" and to write about?????

Well, this is my adult version of.........

What I Did All Summer.......

The Summer started first with new furniture being bought for the Front Porch......

Too bad it was so HOT most of the Summer that we spent very little time out there sitting on the Front Porch!
Hopefully, in the Fall we will get more use out of the Front Porch!

Then I planted my annuals in my pots.....

And my back yard turned into the Little Cottage garden that I had been dreaming of.....

We moved the patio furniture and all my patio pretties up from our Storage Unit....

Planted my annuals in my pots out in the back....

Then I decorated the House with Patriotic Decor for the Summer Holidays!

Made some wreaths for the house.....

Made this wreath for the front door and sold about 30 of the same wreath at work along with....

These beach wreaths.....

I found lots of New Treasures!

A Dumpster Dive Antique Table

I frequented Thrift Stores and found some amazing Finds!
And many more that I haven't showed you in this post but please take my word for it......

Then we bought some big ticket items because our oven caught fire.....

Might as well get a new refrigerator too.......

And throw in a new TV for the Living Room too!!!

I painted and added new border to the Bathroom and then re-decorated it.....

And finally made some of my own Victorian style crafts for myself for my "Pretty" Bathroom...

I had visitors in the Back Yard......

And in the Front Yard.....

I did Lots of Spray Painting..........

Finally made the lamp that I wanted to for the Kitchen counter bar since last year......

Did some tweaking in the Master Bedroom

Re-designed Joe's Dresser

Made something for myself......

Joe added a New Shelf to his Pittsburgh Shrine!

Then I also finally did a project that I wanted to do for several years and created My Faux Brick Patio Floor.........

I Spray Painted Bricks and Walkway.......

I got my Craft Room ready for Where Bloggers Create!

I decorated my Summer Butterfly, Rose and Tea Cup Craft Room Tree......

I bought Old Sewing Machine Drawers at an Antique Co -Op and Re-Finished them!

I bought a Shelf at Salvation Army and added a Larger Work Surface on my work table in the Craft Room....

I collected cans and bought shakers at thrift stores and created some New Things for storage and organization!

Then we also finally got around to the Den Make- Over that I wanted to do for several years.....

Painted and added a new wall paper border.......

Refinished End Tables......

Dabbled with Computer Armoire to Make it Pretty!

More Sewing Machine Drawers Re-Finished!

Refinished another table......

And also the China Cupboard......

And that pretty much summed up my Summer!!!

What did you do this Summer?????

My One Little Word for 2012 is TIME.

Please click HERE to read about it......

In the beginning of the year, I was ill. For months, I made it to work and back home and that was the extent of it....
After several months of not being able to eat, losing 17 pounds ( which was a good thing), having a constant feeling of a fist in my left rib cage, numerous tests and Dr.'s visits and continuing to work through all of it, I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and also Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.

I am on thyroid medication now and even though the symptoms of IBS often rear their ugly heads, I was able to enjoy the Summer taking the TIME to do the things I Love to do!

So even though the first 5 months of this year was not what I hoped it would be, I do feel that I made up for it this Summer.

I have had to cut back on some of the things that I love to do and on traveling but all in all,
Life is Good!

We are now entering my favorite time of year from Fall up to and including Christmas.
I continue to hope that Life will remain Good and I will continue to be able to spend my TIME doing the things I want to do and love to do with the people who are most important to me.

Are you spending your TIME as you wish to????

Oh my goodness, a lot of great stuff has been going on in your home! Our 18 year old has the same autoimmune disease and has since she was in 2nd grade. Be careful to any and all changes in your body, autoimmune diseases can attack other parts of your body. We are watching our daughter's eye right now it might be attacking her eye muscles. Who hosts where bloggers create? I loved viewing those spaces last year and was hoping I would be ready this year...don't think I'll be completely ready...

Your porch and yard are lovely and I'm sure you'll enjoy the porch this fall. I happy to hear you are feeling better and continue to recover from what you were going through early in the year. Look forward to your holiday decorating…….

I feel like I've run a marathon just reading what all you accomplished. All the finishing furniture is so nice, I love the dumpster diving table--who in the world would discard such a piece??? Your mesh wreaths are pretty, I'm just getting into making some of those. We traveled to Colo and Indiana and Mo this summer. Had lots of fun with the grandkids.
